New ideas are floated in bid to boost Battle

ISLANDERS are being encouraged to get on board and pledge support for this year’s Battle of Flowers, which is tipped to be the biggest and best ever.
The Jersey Battle of Flowers Association have launched a campaign to involve more Jersey residents and boost the number of visitors to one of the biggest annual events in the Island calender.
Those who attend the festival this year will even be treated to Battle ‘party bags’ in an effort to get the audience fully involved in the action.
Association chairman Bob Pallot said: ‘We really want to get more local people involved, both in the Battle itself and supporting from the sidelines.
This is Jersey’s day and we want to open up this year’s event to be bigger and better than ever.’
