Airport car park charges go up
Saturday 1st July 2006, 12:00AM BST.
CHARGES for the main car park at Jersey Airport go up by 20 per cent today.
But Airport director Julian Green defended the move saying the rise from 40p per hour to 50p is the first increase in four and a half years and brings the hourly charge in line with scratchcard parking elsewhere in Jersey.
‘Given that there has been no increase for such a long time, I would say the rise was reasonable,’ he said.
Charges for parking in the short-stay arrivals car park will change to 50p per half hour.
Previously it was 50p for the first hour and then £1 per afterwards.
