Cost of watching the detectives

WAGES for the special investigations unit set up to ‘police’ the police are costing the taxpayer £185,000 a year, the Home Affairs Minister has said.
Senator Wendy Kinnard released the figure following allegations by two former officers that anti-corruption inquiries were costing a fortune.
Nigel Gregory and Roy Gallichan, who resigned while facing or after disciplinary action, claimed inquiries into their alleged corrupt activities, had cost the States police more than £1 million.
Those investigations included months of covert surveillance using sophisticated listening devices and hidden cameras.
