WEB chairman forced to go
Wednesday 5th July 2006, 12:00AM BST.
FORMER Senator Pierre Horsfall has been effectively axed as WEB chairman despite offering to continue in the role in the interim period while the board is disbanded and replaced by a new States property development company.
The JEP has learned that although Mr Horsfall’s three-year term of office is up in August, he wanted to stay on but was not given the chance by Chief Minister Frank Walker.
Instead, former Deputy Gerald Voisin has been invited to step in and chair the board for the time being.
In a further snub to Mr Horsfall, two other non-executive directors – Jurat John Tibbo and Peter Crespel – are being asked to continue in their roles.
The States will be asked to confirm their ongoing appointments on 18 July and to support Mr Voisin’s short-term chairmanship.
Mr Horsfall said: ‘I would have liked to have carried on .
. .
The Council of Ministers has decided otherwise.
I am very disappointed.’
