THERE were runs galore in the latest round of Jersey Cricket Board Under-13 League matches played at the FB Fields last Friday.

Caesareans, the majority of their lads coming from De La Salle College, totalled 242 for five as they defeated St Ouen Stormers by 88 runs.

Bradley Stratford obviously does not favour running between the wickets as he ran just three singles in a rapid innings of 56, including two 6s and ten 4s.

Chris Moran hit 35, two 6s and four 4s, in St Ouen’s reply, while there were two wickets apiece for Harry Chinn and J de Gruchy.

Luke Huelin, who took a wicket, bowled accurately conceding just three runs in two overs.

Romerils defeated Sporting Club by three wickets and with three balls of their 18 overs to spare.

Michael Brown hit and unbeaten 20 for the winners with Clayton Romeril and Paul Maguire both taking a couple of wickets.

Aaron Young also contributed with two stunning catches as Romerils struggled on five runs for two wickets.

Stephen Romeril took three Sporting Club wickets – all bowled – for 13 runs in his three-over spell.

Michael Renouf (42) and Hugh Blaine (38 retired) laid the foundations in Old Victorians’ nine-wicket win against Grainville School.

Blaine struck one 6 and five boundaries with Renouf hitting two 6s and four 4s as OVs passed Grainville’s 149 for 7 in eleven overs.

Tim Corson hit six 4s and one 6 to top score for Grainville with 31.

Renouf and Martin Perkins grabbed two wickets each for the victors.

The final round of matches are on Friday starting at 5.45 pm.

Play-off matches are, 1st/2nd: OVs v Caesareans.

3rd/4th: Romerils v St Ouen.

5th/6th: Grainville School v Sporting Club.
