Opera House director sacked

IAN Stephens has been formally dismissed by the board of Jersey Opera House Ltd for alleged gross misconduct.
The board say that they have acted after receiving the report of their auditors’ investigation into the alleged financial irregularities in the conduct of the affairs of the company.
In a statement they say: ‘Having regard to their duties of good corporate governance and to safeguard public monies the board have concluded, after careful consideration of all the information now available to them, that Mr Stephens is to be dismissed from his position of theatre director for gross misconduct.
