Two badly hurt as car hits tree

TWO men were seriously injured when their car hit a tree and rolled on to its roof in St Martin early this morning.
The police and ambulance were called at around 4 am and arrived to find both men still conscious in the overturned French-registered Peugeot.
Paramedics treated them at the scene in Rue de la Maitrerie before transporting them to the General Hospital, where they arrived at around 5 am.
The 33-year-old driver was found to have head and facial injuries and a fractured ankle.
His 24-year-old passenger has fractures of the left arm, left leg, right foot, right hand and facial injuries.
None of the injuries is life-threatening.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw the car before the crash to come forward.
