Mobile phone mast petition
Tuesday 2nd January 2007, 12:00AM GMT.
MOBILE phone masts must be kept away from schools and homes in Jersey, according to the Jersey Mobile Masts Concern Group.
They are presenting a petition to the Planning department tomorrow asking them to forbid the erection of masts within 300 metres of schools and residential areas. The petition, signed by more than 1,000 Islanders, comes one week before the moratorium imposed by Planning Minister Freddie Cohen comes to an end and he is due to begin processing applications.
