67 jobs are lost at Jerssey Post

NEARLY 70 people working for Jersey Post’s fulfilment arm will be made redundant.

The States-owned company has announced that 67 staff working for its ‘pick-and-pack’ subsidiary Offshore Solutions Ltd will lose their jobs in April. All staff were warned last month that their jobs were under threat. Jersey Post is winding up its pick-and-pack business – which involves serving internet mail-order companies – because most of its clients have been forced to leave the Island by a new States policy designed to discourage UK-based firms using Jersey simply to avoid tax.
