The price of immigration

THE biggest study ever undertaken to assess the impact of population growth is under way.
Overseen by States chief executive Bill Ogley, it will look at the effect that more people will have on everything from schools to hospitals, energy use and land implications. It will also assess the price the Island has to pay in terms of resources and land in return for economic growth, and as part of the process a population model will be created for the first time to enable predictions to be made.
