CLAVERLEY Company, the parent group of the Jersey Evening Post and Guernsey Press, has sold 150 convenience stores and newsagents from its UK retail division, News Shops Ltd, for an undisclosed sum.
The ‘Stars’ shops based in the Midlands, the South-West and Home Counties have been acquired by Oxford and Walsall-based Midcounties Co-operative, the fourth largest co-operative in the UK.
The 3,000 full-time and part-time staff will see no change to their employment terms, according to the new owners.
