Capacity query on school buses

THE capacity of Connex’s winning school bus tender will be questioned in the States tomorrow.
The bus firm took over the contract from Tantivy Blue Coach Tours on the first day of term. But following complaints from parents, Senator Jim Perchard plans to ask Transport Minister Deputy Guy de Faye how many seats are provided on a daily basis and whether there is sufficient seating capacity to deliver the service properly and safely. Senator Perchard said he was concerned to hear that many students are having to stand on the school buses, because of a lack of seats.
