Ecstasy haul in juvenilles’ luggage
Tuesday 16th January 2007, 12:00AM GMT.
CUSTOMS officers seized around 10,000 ecstasy tablets with a street value of around £100,000 in the baggage of two juveniles who arrived on the Condor ferry from Weymouth yesterday.
As a result of that seizure, a St Helier Centenier charged them with importation of illegal drugs and they were expected to appear in the Island’s Youth Court this morning. Neither of the two juveniles charged is a local resident. Customs director of law enforcement Steve Le Marquand said that this was one of the largest ecstasy seizures that they had made as a result of excellent detection work carried out by officers at the two frontiers.
