Football:Scottish not to be punished for mistake
Tuesday 16th January 2007, 12:00AM GMT.
RUMOURS that Jersey Scottish may be docked six points for allegedly playing a suspended player in two Coca-Cola Combination Division I matches are unfounded.
Combination president Tim Darwin today confirmed that an error was made by football’s Disciplinary Committee and that no action would be taken against Scottish as they were told by Disciplinary secretary John Gasston that the player was free to play.
Meanwhile, St Clement and St Saviour meet in football’s inter-parish Trinity Shield final tonight at Springfield for the fourth consecutive time.
St Clement are the holders, having won 2-1 last year.
Kick off is at 7.30.
