Politicians think about a ban on herbal high

THE States could move to ban a product reputed to give a cannabis-like high which is currently on sale in St Helier.
In the States yesterday, Chief Minister Frank Walker said he was intent on talking to the Health and Home Affairs ministers about what should and could be done about the sale of Spice, a legal ‘exotic herbal blend’ that is on sale in a town store. The Chief Minister was asked by St Saviour Deputy Kevin Lewis if he was thinking of banning the product as there were fears it could cause respiratory failure. Senator Walker said he would talk to Health Minister Stuart Syvret and Home Affairs Minister Wendy Kinnard about what action, if any, could be taken.
