Man who attacked his sister is jailed

A DRUNK man who battered his sister with a bottle and fractured her cheek in a frenzied attack has been jailed for two years by the Royal Court.

Jean Michel Jarman (25) said he was ashamed of what he had done and asked the court to send him to prison after admitting a charge of grave and criminal assault. He said he believed that being locked up was the only way he would beat his alcohol addiction and stop him causing more harm. The court heard that the accused did not remember the attack and was devastated by the fact that his sister had not been in touch with him since.
