Phone masts are not a danger, says scientist

ISLANDERS concerned about emissions from mobile phones need to be assured that they are not in danger, according to a retired World Health Organisation scientist.
Michael Repacholi, who was speaking to a scrutiny sub-panel yesterday, said that people worried about base stations and their effects needed to be reassured by the States that emissions were far too low to pose a threat. Dr Repacholi – who was paid by mobile phone operator Jersey Airtel to speak to the panel yesterday – said that if he did not know about radiation, he too would be ‘stressed out of his mind’. Health ‘If you are being informed that masts are bad for your health and see one next door, what are you going to think?’ he said.
