Gatwick service to be cancelled two days next week
Thursday 25th January 2007, 12:00AM GMT.
BRITISH Airways flights to Gatwick will be cancelled next Tuesday and Wednesday as a result of a strike by cabin crew.
The airline announced today that all domestic and European services will be cancelled. And all BA flights from Heathrow are also grounded from 12.01 am on Tuesday until 11.59 pm on Wednesday. Negotiations between managers and officials from the Transport and General Workers Union ended in acrimony in the early hours of today, bringing desperate news for travellers. Thousands of air stewards and stewardesses were expected to walk out, with further three-day strikes due in February unless the row – over sickness absence, pay and staffing levels – is resolved.
