Two restaurants get Michelin stars
Thursday 25th January 2007, 12:00AM GMT.
JERSEY could become a haven for gastro-tourists after two local restaurants were given Michelin star ratings.
The Atlantic Hotel Ocean Restaurant and head chef Mark Jordan were awarded a star for the first time in this year’s guide and Bohemia, whose head chef is Shaun Rankin, retained their star for the third year running. With two top Jersey establishments, plus one in Guernsey, the Channel Islands now have the same amount of Michelin-starred restaurants as Edinburgh and Dublin – putting the Island firmly on the ‘foodie’ map. A Michelin Guide spokesman told the JEP today that with only 106 one-star awards out of millions of restaurants in the UK and Ireland it was certainly nothing to be sniffed at.
