Magistrate complains again on court delays

LONG delays in cases coming before court have again come under fire from the Island’s Magistrate, Ian Le Marquand.
In dealing on Wednesday with two young men whose cases had taken four months to bring to court, Mr Le Marquand repeated that such delays were undesirable and that he would raise the issue at a meeting he had planned with senior police officers. He added that the fault in this instance seemed to be with the States police, not the Centeniers, and he said unjustifiable delays put the court under more pressure.
