Markets to be targeted in Asia and Europe

Saturday 27th January 2007, 12:00AM GMT.

MARKET access will be at the top of the agenda this year for the new chief executive of Jersey Finance.

Geoff Cook told JFL members in his inaugural speech at the annual lunch on Tuesday that he would be looking to increase business in China, India, other parts of Asia and Eastern Europe, as well as the more mature UK and European markets.

Jersey Finance will this year receive a grant of £1 million from the States of Jersey to further its work of promoting the Island’s finance industry.

Mr Cook, who took up his new post this month, will himself chair the Jersey Finance market access sub-committee which was set up last year.
