Celebrities make fund-raising part of their routine
Monday 2nd April 2007, 12:00AM BST.
MISS Battle of Flowers chaperone Jackie Donald was crowned winner of the 2007 Celebrity Dance Floor Challenge on Friday.
Eight Jersey celebrities and their expert partners were each judged on two routines. Four of the couples danced the waltz and cha-cha-cha, the other four were assessed on their quickstep and rhumba. As a finale, all 16 dancers combined to perform a rock ‘n’ roll routine. Jackie and her dance partner, Jim Drew, gained the highest cumulative scores from the judges and the audience votes. The charity evening, which the Jersey Amateur Dancefloor Association organised to raise money for Family Nursing and Home Care, was a sellout. The audience of 350 people enjoyed a three-course dinner and live music at the event, which was held at the Queen’s Hall, Fort Regent.
