Cup final cracker in prospect at Springfield
Tuesday 3rd April 2007, 12:00AM BST.
REVITALISED Trinity F&SC oppose St Peter in the Le Riche Cup final at Springfield tonight.
Joe Morley and Andy Barker’s side have recovered from six defeats in eight matches to win their last seven games, including a 2-1 Jeremie Cup win against St Peter last month.
Morley said: ‘Yes we’ve turned things round, we had a few problems around Christmas and now they are behind us.
‘We always knew we would turn it round, together we have worked hard by applying ourselves properly and with the right attitude.
‘We’ve got one or two injury problems ahead of tonight but you know me, it’s eleven v eleven.
‘It’s going to be a tough game, St Peter are well organised, strong and disciplined and we’ll give them plenty of respect without sitting back too much.’ St Peter joint-manager Jon Trigg said: ‘We are fortunate to have university students Joel Speight and Peter Vincenti back tonight but we are without captain Kevan Crowell through suspension.
‘Kevin’s attitude and desire has culminated in him having an outstanding season for us and he will be a big loss.
‘Tonight is an opportunity for the players to prove that the criticism that Martin King and I allayed on them, following their recent defeat by Trinity, was unfounded.
