Badminton:Agathangelou adds Euro bronze to team gold
Tuesday 10th April 2007, 12:00AM BST.
MARIANA Agathangelou continued her fine form at the European Junior Championships in Germany picking up a bronze in the women’s doubles individual event.
Playing again with Gabrielle White, the pair lost to the eventual gold medallists Olga Konon of Belarus and Kristina Ludikova of the Czech Republic – going down 22-20, 21-12 in the semi-finals.
This was however, enough to pick up a bronze medal to add to the team women’s doubles gold that the girls won earlier in the competition.
Agathangelou also featured in the mixed doubles with England’s Peter Mills, bowing out in the quarter-finals after a 21-18, 21-11 loss against Danish pair, and top seeds, Kruse and Kolding.
