Band helps cause of international harmony

A LOCAL band – fronted by the son of the Bailiff – is travelling to St Helier’s twin town of Bad Wurzach to promote links between Jersey and Germany.

Up-and-coming rock four-piece the Switch will play a gig in the German town where many Islanders were deported during the Second World War. The Victoria College-based band, who made the semi-final in a recent BBC competition to find the best young groups in the world, want to enhance the relationship between the young people of St Helier and Bad Wurzach. Singer and bass player Eddy Bailhache (16), who won the prestigious Young Musician of the Year title last year, says that the gig will demonstrate positive attitudes between Jersey and Germany.
