Guiton hopes to sell newsagents’

ABOUT 12 head office jobs will be lost and about 150 shop staff will be transferred if approval is given for the sale of 13 newsagents’ stores in Jersey from the Guiton Group to Spar (Channel Islands).
Guiton, the parent company of the Jersey Evening Post, announced today that it was in the process of selling off virtually all of its retail operations, not only in Jersey but also in the Isle of Man and the Isle of Wight. And Spar managing director Nigel Robson said he hoped that the Jersey acquisition would be concluded by the end of May or early June.
