FOUR horses owned by Islanders are expected to be in the line-up of 40 in the Grand National at Aintree tomorrow.
Trevor Hemmings has three runners and Paul Green has the other. Over the three days of the meeting – which got under way yesterday – Beaumont resident Mr Hemmings was expecting to have 15 horses racing, St Martin resident Mr Green three and St Lawrence resident and former States Deputy Cynthia Rumboll one. Mr Hemmings’ runners in Saturday’s big race are the 2005 winner and last year’s runner-up Hedgehunter, Idle Talk and Billyvoddan.
