Town park ‘is within reach’

AFTER years of stagnation and fears over cyanide contamination, the Chief Minister today promised that the creation of the town park was within reach.
Senator Frank Walker said that he would be making a major announcement within the next few weeks and was determined to make significant progress soon. The long-awaited scheme has had many problems since it won popular support as a Millennium project. The Chief Minister said that he would, and could, only proceed once the ground had been declared safe and when a new car parking area could be found to compensate for the loss of spaces opposite the New Forum cinema.
