Estate agents set up a new code of conduct

THE Jersey Estate Agents Association (JEAA) is on a recruiting drive after issuing a code of conduct.

The code is based on the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) code which is phrased to take account of legislation designed to protect UK consumers.

JEAA joint president Jane Denney, of Prestige Properties, said: ‘People would like us to enforce the rules – you have to look after your clients and people do need protection in Jersey.

Honest ‘There is absolutely nothing in law at the moment, but the fact that we have got the code now is good news for the public – it means our members have to conform to good, honest business practice.
