Forums ‘will give tenants more say’

STATES tenants will have more say about what happens on their estates, according to the Housing Minister.
Senator Terry Le Main said that a tenants’ forum – which will bring together representatives from all of the Island’s residents’ associations – will herald a new era of participation between the Housing Department and Islanders who live in States housing. The forum was discussed at a meeting last night when a long-standing participant of similar schemes in Brighton and Hove, John Joliffe, spoke to tenants about the benefits of the participation movement. And although the minister did not attend last night’s meeting at Fort Regent, believing it to be non-political, he said that it was a step in the right direction.
