Old postal van makes the perfect delivery
Wednesday 18th April 2007, 12:00AM BST.
A ROYAL Mail van which last delivered letters when an Island stamp cost 2p could soon be back on Jersey’s roads.
Two Island classic vehicle enthusiasts have tracked down the Morris Minor and have now brought it home. However, they are missing one vital piece to complete the historic motoring jigsaw – the number plate. Carol and Richard Gould, of Mont Rossignol, St Ouen, are now appealing for the owner of J16428 to get in touch. The couple missed out on buying the van in 2005, when it was sold through the JEP to someone in the UK. Ever since then they have been looking for it and finally found it on Humberside.
