Cycle race ‘may forge new links with Brittany’

THE Tour de Bretagne’s visit could help the Island to forge an even stronger friendship with Brittany.
All those involved in yesterday’s event, the first of its kind in Jersey, feel that there is the potential for stronger links in the future. Daniel Gilles, vice-president of the Conseil Général, Brittany’s regional council, made his first visit to the Island to watch the prestigious cycling event. He believes that it opens the door for a closer relationship. ‘I am really pleased to be here for this,’ he said. ‘It is good to see how professional the Jersey people have been in making this possible. It opens up many possibilities for the future.
