IT firms take lead with technology

THREE Jersey IT firms are proving that the Island can provide clients with cutting edge technology.
WEB agency Webreality has commissioned IT consultancy iConsult to provide ongoing support for new highly resilient infrastructure, which is based at the Foreshore datacentre in Queen’s Road.
The new equipment consists of ‘blade’ servers which are particularly suited to web hosting, together with back-up servers and improved firewall systems.
The improvements are designed to give the highest possible resilience to technical failure and data security.
Phil Balderson, founder and joint managing director of Webreality, said: ‘We have grown rapidly in the past two years and many of our clients depend on our servers for their business continuity.
This has been a substantial investment for a company of our size, but few web hosting agencies anywhere in the world can offer this level of resilience and the benefits to our clients are invaluable.
