Our brand-new look

THIS is how the world will see Jersey. After 18 months and at a cost of £240,000, ministers have settled on a new ‘Jersey brand’ that will be used to market the finance, tourism and agriculture industries around the world on websites, leaflets and adverts.
The last few months of market testing and consultation have not resulted in major changes to the draft that met with a mixed reaction at best when it was revealed eight months ago. A draft version was leaked to the JEP in August and prompted a largely negative response from Islanders. Although publicly supportive, some ministers are also known to have been disappointed with what was quickly dubbed the ‘flying banana’ but which the marketing company call a ‘golden bird’.
