Three years jail for garage thief

A MAN who was caught ransacking private garages for frozen food and alcohol has been jailed for three years.
Luciano and Angela Barbapiccola found Justin John Charles Anderton (30) attempting to steal wine and beers from their home in February. In April, Evelyn Bailey and Andrew Hibbs managed to restrain Anderton after catching him at their home with a rucksack filled with frozen chicken and chips. Yesterday in the Royal Court Crown Advocate Andrew Begg said that Anderton had admitted to serious drink problems, which fuelled his intent to commit crime. He said that on both occasions Anderton was drunk. Anderton claimed that he was told by one friend – revealed as Neil Marrett – that the garages belonged to him, and that the goods inside were his.
