A modern look for Corbière?

FOUR luxury houses worth more than £2 million each could be built on the headland at Corbière, if Planning agree.

Design Plus Ltd have put in plans for the Le Chalet Hotel site two years after the Planning Department approved a scheme for 41 apartments there. Architect Eddie Caldeira – whose firm is developing the site on behalf of an unnamed client – said that the development would be the first of its kind in the Island. He said that the three four-bedroom and one five-bedroom homes would be designed in a very modern style with grass roofs, and glass and granite exteriors. ‘These houses sit on the footprint of the previous buildings. It is very complimentary,’ he said. ‘It’s contemporary architecture, but it respects the site.’
