IS this the greatest Jersey cow ever?
Trinity King’s Rosie has just added a national milk production award to an already impressive trophy cabinet which boasts the 2006 Jersey Supercow and spring show supreme champion titles. The latest award is the John Ibbotson Memorial Cup which has gone to Rosie’s owners, Trinity Manor Farm Ltd, for the second year running. Rosie produced a total of 9,794 kgs milk (21,591 lbs) in her fourth lactation. When Rosie took the Royal Jersey Agricultural and Horticultural Society’s 2006 Supercow and supreme champion awards, it was a historic double never achieved before. Stephen Le Feuvre, of the RJAHS, said that this latest award ‘truly set the cow apart from any other cow in Jersey’s history. This latest award completes the 2006 Grand Slam’.
