Greenfields claims ‘misleading’

THERE is no reason to believe that children and young people at the Greenfields secure unit are at risk, the Education Minister said today.
In his first public statement on the allegations of institutionalised child abuse at the centre, Senator Mike Vibert said that he was speaking out to ensure that Islanders were given a full and accurate picture of life there. He called on people to await the findings of an independent review by Andrew Williamson, a child protection expert. Senator Vibert claims that Senator Stuart Syvret has made a series of misleading assertions about Greenfields and wants to set the record straight.
