CCTV images of potential witnesses have been released following an alleged serious sexual assault on a woman near Liberation Square last week.

The images show people who were in the area on Thursday 6 September at around 9.40 pm when the alleged assault took place. Police are now asking these people to come forward. Det Insp Chris Beechey said: ‘We are anxious that these witnesses now come forward to help us with our inquiries.’ The alleged male attacker is described as looking young for his age. He is in his forties, but could be taken as being in his mid-twenties. He is Asian with bleached blonde/gold hair, a slim build, and a scar on his left forearm. He was wearing a white T-shirt with horizontal stitching on the chest and a pair of jeans. The woman is around 5 ft 4 ins tall with dark, shoulder-length hair and a medium build. She was wearing a pink cardigan, a floral skirt and a pair of flipflops.
