Jobseekers beat a path to Fort Regent
Thursday 20th September 2007, 12:00AM BST.
THOUSANDS of students, graduates and jobseekers attended the Island’s largest-ever careers fair, which was held in Fort Regent’s Gloucester Hall yesterday.
More than 40 exhibitors from industries ranging from architecture and banking to child care and the armed forces took part in the event, which was twice the size of previous years. It was organised by Tara Liddle, a student on a three-month graduate internship at the Jersey Careers Service, who is about to embark on her final year at university. She described the day as a big success. ‘It’s gone really well,’ she said. ‘All of the students seemed to pick up valuable and interesting information from the stands.’
