More delays for the new hotel
Friday 21st September 2007, 12:00AM BST.
THE opening of the £50 million Radisson SAS Hotel on the Waterfront has been delayed again, with the hotel company saying it will now not open until just before Christmas.
It was originally hoped that the four-star hotel would open in time for the Jersey International Air Display on 13 September. However, when it became apparent that date could not be met, guests with bookings had to be transferred to other hotels as building work continued. In August, the chairman of the company that owns and developed the waterfront building, Ted Clucas of Jersey Waterfront Hotel Developments Ltd, announced that the proposed opening date would be 1 November. However, Radisson have now taken over the launch arrangements and the hotel company’s director of sales and marketing, Lisa Stewart, said that they would rather open a complete hotel than a half-finished one.
