Loss-making pub closes
Saturday 22nd September 2007, 12:00AM BST.
TRADERS at the Weighbridge is the latest in a string of Island pubs to close.
The loss-making pub is one of six now owned outright by multi-millionaire Tom Scott. Another, the Seymour Inn, closed on Wednesday, but is to reopen as soon as health concerns about the kitchen have been sorted out. The JEP has learned that environmental health officers have stopped the Grouville pub reopening under a new licensee until the cooking area is brought up to scratch. As well as the Traders and the Seymour, Mr Scott owns The Southampton, The Bridge, The Oxford and The Cosmopolitan. The Oxford and The Cosmopolitan are currently closed.
