LAW firm Walkers are to help the Environment department to prevent the Island’s population of green lizards from going into decline.
The firm have committed themselves to a three-year project to support green lizards in the Island – the only place in the British Isles with a native population of them. That support will include raising money for the project, and designing and producing a limited edition of green lizard toys. Last year, the Environment department set up survival strategies – called biodiversity action plans – for 51 species of animals, birds, butterflies, plants and fish which are considered to be threatened.
