It’s another £1m Kirch bonus for pensioners
Thursday 11th October 2007, 12:00AM BST.
EVERY Islander over the age of 70 will again receive an early £100 Christmas gift from property developer David Kirch (right) – and he has said that he intends to do the same every year for the rest of his life.
This year it will be the Co-op at which the vouchers can be spent and not at the stores formerly run by CI Traders. From mid-November, anyone aged 70-plus can go to their parish hall to claim vouchers worth £100 to spend at any Co-op store. Each person will get ten £10 vouchers, and they can be used from Monday 3 December until 31 January 2008. There will be a further bonus as the Co-op will pay dividend to its members who use the vouchers.
