Tattoo danger warning
Friday 12th October 2007, 12:00AM BST.
CHILDREN may have been put at risk of HIV and other diseases by a back-street tattooist using dirty needles, health protection officers warned today.
Anyone who has had a tattoo at home or in unregistered premises is being urged to seek medical advice immediately. There is particular concern that the 33-year old man, who was arrested earlier this month, has been illegally tattooing children. The man, whose name has not been released, was arrested on 2 October on suspicion of unregistered tattooing, operating from unregistered premises and of the alleged tattooing of a girl under 16 years of age.
