A DRUG dealer who led police to £250,000 worth of heroin after his arrest on suspicion of supplying the drug has been jailed for five years.

Marco Vieira (33) had begun dealing heroin after being forced to look after a package of the drug by someone he owed £400 for a car. The Royal Court heard that the man, identified only as ‘Mario’, first told Vieira to look after 265g of heroin before instructing him to deal 50g bags to two addicts in St Helier. Crown Advocate Stephen Baker told the court that when Vieira was arrested on 17 May, police found £1,700 in his wallet and more than £11,000 in cash hidden behind the dashboard of his van. Vieira, who had lived in Jersey for seven years, then led police to a lock-up in St Martin where they found nine packages of heroin.
