Youth centre for Portuguese?

A YOUTH Centre for young Portuguese people or carers could be established in the Island.

Jersey’s Principal Youth Officer, Shirley Costigan, said that the Youth Service were looking to set up a specialist youth project in the near future on the Minden Base site. ‘The Youth Service are looking at developing a specialist youth project as a small drop-in project,’ she said. ‘Maybe a small Portuguese youth centre one night a week, or a session for carers on another, for example.’ Mrs Costigan said that the site would be used by different groups on different nights of the week and that the Youth Service were open to suggestions for the different ways in which it could be used.
