Full stop sought to child cruelty
Monday 15th October 2007, 12:00AM BST.
ISLANDERS are being asked to help the campaign against child cruelty with the Jersey launch of nationwide NSPCC campaign BE the Full Stop.
Last year Jersey police recorded 32 cases of cruelty or neglect against children, although the NSPCC say there may be many more cases that do not get reported. The aim of the initiative is to show people how they can help to put a stop to child abuse through online petitions, campaigns and donations. Television adverts will run throughout the four-week campaign, which is being co-ordinated in Jersey by the NSPCC team working through the Pathways Project in St Clement.
