Waterfront car park fees go up
Monday 15th October 2007, 12:00AM BST.
ISLANDERS who rent spaces in the Waterfront car park are facing a 77 per cent increase in fees from December.
The Waterfront Enterprise Board have hiked the price of a seven-day space on the lower level of the car park from £90 to £160 a month to help them pay for maintenance of the site. The price for spaces from Monday to Friday for a month will rise from £80 to £150. WEB say that maintaining the gardens and public areas, as well as protecting the Waterfront against vandalism, is expensive and the increased charges will help them foot the bill.
