Renewed move to shut down compost operation

THE La Collette green waste plant could be shut down by a nuisance order served on Public Health.
The Constable of St Helier, Simon Crowcroft, has served the order because of the smell that he says is blighting the lives of Havre des Pas residents. Public Health have called a meeting with the Constable and the Transport Department that runs the plant to try to resolve the issue. But under the Public Nuisance Law they could order the plant to be closed down if they find hard evidence that it is causing a nuisance to the public.
